Grouped Data Sequential Probability Ratio Tests and Cumulative Sum Control Charts

چکیده
Methodology is proposed for the design of sequential methods when data are obtained by gauging articles into groups. Exact expressions are obtained for the operating characteristics and average sampling number of Wald Sequential Probability Ratio Tests (SPRTs), and for the average run length of Cumulative Sum (CUSUM) schemes based on grouped data. Step by step design algorithms are provided to assist the practitioner. The methodology is illustrated assuming a normal process with known standard deviation where we wish to detect shifts in the mean. An example from a progressive die operation is presented. The methods proposed are simple to implement, and are an economical alternative to variables data based sequential sampling plans and CUSUM control charts.

Grouped Data Exponentially Weighted Moving Average Control Charts
In the manufacture of metal fasteners in a progressive die operation, and other industrial situations, important quality dimensions cannot be measured on a continuous scale, and parts are classified into groups using a step gauge. This article proposes a version of exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) control charts applicable to monitoring the grouped data for process shifts. The run l...
متن کاملUsing Regression based Control Limits and Probability Mixture Models for Monitoring Customer Behavior
In order to achieve the maximum flexibility in adaptation to ever changing customer’s expectations in customer relationship management, appropriate measures of customer behavior should be continually monitored. To this end, control charts adjusted for buyer’s/visitor’s prior intention to repurchase or visit again are suitable means taking into account the heterogeneity across customers. In the ...
متن کاملA risk adjusted self-starting Bernoulli CUSUM control chart with dynamic probability control limits
Usually, in monitoring schemes the nominal value of the process parameter is assumed known. However, this assumption is violated owing to costly sampling and lack of data particularly in healthcare systems. On the other hand, applying a fixed control limit for the risk-adjusted Bernoulli chart causes to a variable in-control average run length performance for patient populations with dissimilar...

Methodology is presented for the design of single and double compressed limit Sequential Probability Ratio Tests (SPRT) and Cumulative Sum (CUSUM) control charts to detect one-sided mean shifts in a symmetric probability distribution. We also show how to evaluate the average run length properties with the Fast Initial Response (FIR) feature. The resulting CUSUM plans have a simple scoring proce...

Cumulative Count of Conforming (CCC) charts are utilized for monitoring the quality characteristics in high-quality processes. Executive cost of control charts is a motivation for researchers to design them with the lowest cost. Usually in most researches, only one objective named cost function is minimized subject to statistical constraints, which is not effective method for economic-statistic...
